“Bedazzled” Mystery
A Mystery Block of the Month

4th Border

This month you’ll be making a Flying Geese border.  Your complete center will measure 40 1/2” (40” finished).

Cutting Instructions:

RED

 Cut 2 - 2 1/2" Squares

YELLOW

Cut 2 - 2 1/2" Squares
Cut 4 - 9 1/4" Squares for Flying Geese

NAVY BLUE

Cut 4 - 2 1/2" Squares
Cut 4 - 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" Rectangles
Cut 16 - 4 7/8" Squares for Flying Geese

Assembly:  

First, make 4 corner units (2 of each color arrangement) as shown:

    

Next, make Flying Geese as you did before in episode 2 by placing Navy Blue 4 7/8” squares on the Yellow 9 1/4” Squares.  You should have 16 Flying Geese units as shown.  Your units should measure 8 1/2” x 4 1/2” each.

   

Next, form the border units from the Flying Geese blocks, joining corner blocks on the top and bottom border as shown.  Be sure your borders are turned and positioned correctly.  Then join to your quilt center as shown:
