You May Want to Go Get Yours

Ok, gang, got a cup of coffee ready?  Hope these JPEG's didn't take too long for you to download.  I'll try to provide a picture and description of each quilt, approximate date and pertinent and "unpertinent" info with each.  Also, let me remind you that all my stuff is copyrighted and I can get really cranky if I find anyone selling or misusing my designs (and so can my attorney).

#86.  Twisted Mystery Quilt - September, 2006 - The Quilt Shoppe Forum hosts an annual "twisted mystery" swap, hosted by Lynn Wingard.  Here's how it works:  Each person gathers up enough coordinating fabrics that she would like to have in a quilt made for herself, and sends it to Lynn--who in turn sends each envelope of fabrics to a different participant.  No one but Lynn knows whose envelope is sent to whom.  When a participant receives her envelope, she makes a lap-size quilt with the contents she receives.  No one knows whose quilt they are making and/or making for them in return.  Kinda twisted, huh?  Anyway at the end of the allotted time, finished quilts are returned to their original owner and everyone's mystery is solved.  This is the quilt I made for (as it turned out) Kate North, who lives in England.  (It was machine quilted by Donna Titsworth, Inola, Ok).

Kate's Twisted Mystery Quilt

Here's a closer view of the appliqued background.

Twisted Mystery close up

I truly loved this quilt and it was so hard for me to part with it.  Kate supplied the most colorful and wonderful fabrics for me to work with.  But the story has an unhappy ending--------------

It never arrived at Kate's.  Somewhere between California and England, it disappeared in the mail.  We were all shocked and heartbroken to say the least.

#87. Fanfare for the Heroes - March, 2007 - A Judy Martin design.  If a person enjoys tedious torment, piecing this quilt is very enjoyable.  If 8-pointed stars are your favorite, then you'll love this one.  However, the nice thing is there are no Y seams--nothing to set in.  Everything is pieced in block units that all come together nicely.  Not recommended for beginners.  Machine quilted and owned by Mary M. Covey.  (Our cat, Sissy, is at the bottom left).

#88.  Regina's Butterfly - June, 2007 - This quilt top was on my "To Do" list for what seems like years (probably a few months).  It's not mine, unfortunately, though.  Forty-eight embroidered butterfly blocks (very well done, btw).  My friend, Regina Mann is scheduled to hand quilt this--thank goodness I don't have to.  :-)

There were 48 of these wonderful butterfly blocks:

These are just some of many, of course.  We will be adding more as time goes by, so check back often.  Visit the many gallery archives below.  Thanks for your time!!
