Merry Christmas to All!!!

This is my Christmas quilt this year.  It's Recipe #14 of the Nine-Patch Wonders series.  I've never done one with a pink background, but sure like the way this one turned out.  (Photo does not do it justice).  It's at the quilter's now (Mary Covey, Jenks, OK).  Can't wait to see what she does with it.  It's always a pleasant surprise.  And, you know, they say - "It's not a quilt, until it's quilted!".

News:

Here's what I reported last month:

"After a lot of thinking on my part (ouch!), I have decided to offer one project for the coming year on the free page.  This will allow me enough time to complete some projects that require extensive work.  I have been trying, for example, to complete a hand-quilted project that has been on the frame since a year ago.  (It's only about 1/3 complete!)  I also have several time-consuming design opportunities coming up.  If I could clone myself, or if I had 7 hands, or if there were 48 hours in a day, things would be different!  I hope this will not discourage any of you from visiting this site.  I promise to have a really nice project on the free page to make it worth your while to stop in each month as usual. "

Well, the design for next year's free project is done, and we're in the testing stage.  We're calling it "Starlight Sampler".  We think you'll enjoy it, a LOT.  Twelve simple, basic pieced blocks, and 1 that is paper-pieced in the center.  Be sure to tune in next month for the first block.

More News:

We have our very own Delphi Forum!  It's called the Quilt Shoppe Forum!  It's in the formation stage, and we're planning lots of great projects and swaps.  Go here:

(If you're new to Delphi, you may be asked to fill out membership info to get you started.)  See you there!

Site-Seeing:

http://einstein.atmos.colostate.edu/~mcnoldy/msh/  Mt. St. Helens "watch-cam" site.  (You might try using the frame slider, it might help your browser).

http://www.nvisible.com/1111/Earth-Star.html  Truly bizarro site.  Think they may be waiting for the next comet to arrive to hitch a ride.

http://www.ohiobarns.com/otherbarns/quilt/quiltbarns.html  Barns in Ohio painted with quit blocks on them.

http://community-2.webtv.net/hotmail.com/verle33/HummingBirdNest/   A lady found a
hummingbird nest and got pictures all the way from the egg to leaving
the nest. Took 24 days from birth to flight.

http://holidays.blastcomm.com/  Interactive Christmas card.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/holiday/2003/panoramic/index.html  Here's the link to the "pan-cam" tours of the Whitehouse, all decorated for Christmas.

http://www.make-stuff.com/index.html  This is a great crafting projects library.  Every kind of project you can think of is here, (and some that you can't think of).

http://community.webshots.com/user/carolafors  Meet Carola Forsberg from Sweden.  Meet her quilts actually.  :-)  I came across Carola's webshots page browsing thru an EQ challenge.  She is from Sweden and does drop-dead gorgeous quilt designs.  I have downloaded several of her "virtual" quilts into my screensaver.  Sometimes I enter the computer room at night when it's dark, and one of her quilts will be on  the screensaver and it takes my breath away every time.   Be prepared to have your socks knocked off.

Have a great December!

May you always have a quilt in the hoop, I try to.
