What's New???
Good news for those of you out there who are "absolute" beginners! (Or at least know someone who is)...
This month starts a new series of 6 patterns on the free page specifically designed with beginners in mind. I mean most of these patterns even a child could start with.
The first project, shown above, is a very basic one. Good for mastering that 1/4" seam allowance, pressing, and borders. I could also very easily see this one in black and white--sort of a piano key effect, would be interesting. Or a person could use green and yellow, like Astroturf and perhaps appliqué footballs or soccer balls on top of it. Or using baby pastels for a very quick baby shower gift. And why not use flannels?
All of the projects will be useful in scrappy versions also, for those of you who like "scrappy" and are clamoring for charity projects. The names of the projects are: Fine-toothed Comb, Blue Winter, Big Blocks, Picture Frame, Mine Shaft, and Sweet Baby.
This series will be available for purchase soon on the pattern page (as soon as all the testing is complete!). Here's a composite showing some of the designs:
Site seeing, anyone?
http://www.colormarketing.org/media/news/2004_consumer_directions.htm Keep up with current color trends. Or this one: http://www.adampolselli.com/archives/2003/12/24/2004_color_forecast.php
http://www.quiltershusband.com/index.html Lots of interesting products here.
http://www.quiltcrafts.com/frames.html Interesting concept for a hand quilting frame. I want one!
http://mrmom.amaonline.com/kids/BALLS.HTMl Number 12 looks like gummy worms jumping up and down. Very hypnotizing!
Tag Line of the Month:
I work hard because millions on welfare depend on me!
I need some feedback from all of you-----
I'm contemplating making all my patterns available on CD as well as "hard copy". It would be optional, of course. Is this something that you would be interested in, could use, might try? If so, what format would be most useful--such as PDF? MSWord Doc?
I would appreciate hearing from you!
Until next month--
May you always have a quilt in the hoop, I try to.

Cya,
Claudia
