Penguins Play:

Well, they do, don't they?  I know what you're thinking.....winter is over.  What is she doing making a penguin quilt?  The answer is...I don't know!  Just had a creative splurge one day.  Now that winter is over, I can think fondly about ice and snow and all things cold.  I am not a winter person, in winter, that is!

Anyway, here's a little closer view:

Baby's Hungry

Got this quilt back from the machine quilter the other day.  Had them do some meandering and stippling all over it.  But I'm hand quilting the penguins themselves.  Nothing wrong with mixed techniques, I think anyway.  I'm also thinking about adding a couple of Christmas trees, and some toys--like a sled, or maybe a beach ball, or an igloo, or a fish here and there or something.  I know!  I'll have one of them carrying a fishing pole, too!

In case you are wondering why I'm rambling on here, it's because I have absolutely nothing newsworthy to say this month.  Haven't been anywhere, or seen anything fantastic, no new techniques, just same old boring day in and day out.  Didn't even go to the local annual Memorial Day Mennonite Quilt Auction this month.  Forgot all about it.  Shame on me.  At the time they were having their sale and picnic, I was searching the yard for roly-polies with 4 year old and 2 year old grandkids.  Some would say maybe I have my priorities in order.  It was a lot of fun bug hunting!  Guess I could have taken some pictures of the dead bird we found and shared them with you----naw....

Site seeing, anyone?  These are great this month!  Free design program called QuiltMaker.  Great for beginners!,1789,HGTV_3352_1912642,00.html  Make use of old rickety baby beds!  Cute signs for the quilter in your life.  We know about the evil squirrels (See last month's (May) Site Seeing), but who knew their cousins, the raccoons, are also carjackers!  How to avoid an alien abduction.  (Another Weird Chronicles suggested site)  Good EQ4/5 Tutorials FYI..

What's New?

Well, the 4th in the Short N' Scrappy quilt series is on the free block of the month page.  Ozark Mountains is the name of it.  Hope you like it.  We hope to have this series available for purchase very soon.

Also on the free page is none other than the feature item here--Penguins Play.  This is the free block of the month that starts this month.  Enjoy!
