I Finally Finished it!!
Actually, Both of them-----

This has been such a busy month here. No specific reason for it. Just one thing or another every day, all month long. Can't believe I finally got all these deadlines met. My first deadline was a Nite-Nite Baby quilt for my #4 grandson's 2nd birthday. Here's a pic:

Second deadline was a special request by my dear daughter-in-law. She wanted a special quilt for her babysitter's birthday. So I said, "Sure, I'll make her a quilt!" What size? King size! What color??? Well, she loves leopard and cheetah prints! "No problem." (What was I thinking?) So I thought of a quilt I saw in Jan Krentz' Lone Star book. Studied it. Decided I did NOT have that much time to spend on it. So I made a Lone Star quilt, but used large sections instead of little diamonds. Turned out pretty good, I think.

Little closer......at the corner.......

Hope she can sleep under it!!! :-)
Seriously, that's a pretty good way to get one done faster. Instead of all the itty-bitty diamond shapes, use bigger, much bigger diamond shapes. To get the pinwheel effect in the center, I just added the zebra strips to one side of the 8 diamonds--zebra on one edge and cheetah on the other.
Third deadline was the hand-quilted baby cobblestone quilt shown up above, done for a friend. And the bigger cobblestone is MINE!!
Now, on to the next deadline---December 1---another twin size choo-choo for #1 Grandson's birthday! And then, well, we won't talk about Christmas presents yet!
Site seeing, anyone?
http://www.zefrank.com/byokal/kal.html Kaleidoscope toy. I love these kinds of sites that are interactive and you can get hypnotized and spend all day on it.
http://www.zuidwijk.nl/fun/funky/ This is just too much. Some people have web sites/pages for everything under the sun, huh? I think this guy has been to one too many Octoberfests!
http://www.jgwhite.com/quilt_lid_boxes.htm I am sooo impressed with these little babies, I had to share this site with you. I hope Santa is listening here, 'cause I WANT ONE, or two, or three.....and I've been a good girl this year.
http://www.tashian.com/multibabel/ Ever play the game telephone? I typed in "I live to quilt." Then the result that it came up with was: "Alive creature, for the puncture."!!
http://www.disneywebnetwork.com/villains/personality/ Which villain are you?? I'm Gaston, from Beauty and the Beast. Go figure.
http://www.sunbelt-software.com/stu/eye.htm Too bizarre. Put your cursor over the eyeball and then move it around.
http://www.sew-whats-new.com/gallery2/index.shtml Click on bottom-right thumbnail. Pickup Truck Cover. What do these people do when it rains?
http://www.spiderwomanwebdesign.com/thingy.html This is sew cool!!! Grandkids will love it, too!
http://www.intuitor.com/moviephysics/ Ever wonder why it's so noisy in space movies?? Isn't space a vacuum?
What's new??
Well, let's see......I think I've already put too many pictures on this month's newsletter. It will take too long as it is to load it, so I'll just tell you.
The new free block of the month is not new! Actually it is. The bed size Simple Scrappy Pleasures quilt is already running on the page. This month I have added the wall hanging version of that same quilt. Only difference is the size of the blocks and there are no HST borders. You can make the bed-size version, and then make the wall hanging out of the scraps! It would be like a mommy and a baby. Awwwww. One on the bed and one on the wall in the same room. Now THAT would be different!
In the Works:
I'm working on a new collection of designs, pieced flower blocks. Hope to have them ready for next month. This is a collection of 13, baker's dozen. It's in the testing phase now. Also in the testing phase is a quilt with bird blocks as a theme. Here's preliminary preview: Oh, dear, two more pictures on this page, oh well. Hope you have the time:

Hope to have these ready to go next month. Also hope to have a new 2nd
Collection booklet out, too. If I don't have too many more deadlines, that
is.....
May you always have a quilt in the hoop, I try to.
Cya,
Claudia
