GREETINGS!!!!.....

Yesssss!-----I know I'm late posting this newsletter. You might as well get used to it, because next month, I'll probably be late again!
We recently accepted one of our grandchildren to come live with us. I had forgotten just how hectic it can be with just one first grader. How in the world did I ever manage with 4 of them?
Last weekend I had the privilege of accompanying him to a birthday party held at (of all places for a grandma to be) a roller skating rink! It was great fun. Then there was clothes shopping, hair cut, and the homework!! Who would ever imagine that a first grader has so much homework? Even the parents (and/or grandparents) have to sign a report every night as to what was done and turn it in the next day. I feel like I'm the one in school!
Anyway, I don't have much to report to you in the quilting world, that is. I'm thinking about next weekend going to the state Mennonite relief sale in Enid. We'll see if that gets to happen.
Those of you who were lucky enough to get to Houston Festival this year had a good time I heard. My Pretty-Boy Peacocks quilt was there, courtesy Eagle Pattern Depot, and Mary Covey of "The Good Life". Thanks to Mary for transporting it to and from. And thanks to the Eagle Pattern people for displaying it in their booth. You can purchase a few of our patterns wholesale (or retail) thru their website too. You can purchase Mary's line of patterns there, too. Just select either Claudia's Quilt Shoppe or The Good Life in the drop-box area on the Eagle Pattern Depot main page. Darcy Ashton has her patterns listed there now, as well as many other super designers.
I'm
gradually putting together a trunk show for the Short & Scrappy
pattern series (see above). If your local quilt shop is interested, have
them email me for the schedule and details. I can also arrange for
"rental" of samples of some of the other designs available here.
Other showroom samples that are available are: Pretty-Boy Peacocks,
Penguins play, Simple Scrappy Pleasures Wall Hanging, Toy Box Baby Quilt, My
Stars & Bars.
Site seeing, anyone?
http://www.quilts.org/QIQAFall03SpecialRep.pdf A study on the effects/endurance of quilts containing adhesives (fusibles). Note--this is a PDF file.
http://www.terrelldesigns.com/ Very creative use for patchwork. Very inspirational too.
http://homepage.mac.com/mbgoodman/clean/ You're machine will thank you.
What's New?
Well, let's see. Oh, Yes! Another baby quilt pattern is online now! It's a fun one. (And it's cheaper, too!) Very simple, and very pastel (but you could make it bright if you wanted). Called Baby Steps. I have the sample in the hoop, hand quilting it now with light blue thread. Will try to put in a real picture of the sample next month.

May you always have a quilt in the hoop, I try to.
Cya,
Claudia
