Did I Make you Dizzy?---Sorry.
Now that things are back to "normal" around here, well, almost normal, I'm trying to catch up on a few projects that just need to be released from my brain. I wanted to get this one finished so that I can take it to my next guild meeting. I'll be on the program with a trunk show and thought I needed a current rendition of at least one of the quilts from Slash Your Stash to take along.
Wish I had time to make ALL of them again. The original quilts for the book were created back in 2004, some earlier than that. Therefore, with all the wonderful fabric choices there are now, my thinking is that these quilts look even better in current fabrics! It's amazing how one's fabric preferences change in just 3 years. I really still enjoy working with homespuns and plaids, but not as much as 3 or 4 years ago. I'm even thinking of another quilt from the book, using only stripes!

What Am I Working On?
No longer working on projects for our 2008 book. All projects have been finished and the manuscript sent to the publisher. Look for the book coming out in September 2008!! LeAnn and I are already making plans for the sequel. :-)
I have built up more projects on my to do list since this time last year. Right now, I have a Twisted Mystery project for the forum to complete. I also volunteered for a donation block on another forum's comfort quilt for a member there. I also volunteered to make a block for Quilt Pink for a guild project. Sew much to do--sew little time! I still haven't started on the mourning quilt for my mother-in-law. I've not been working on the hand quilting on Bob's quilt in the floor hoop. Progressing none. Still have the appliquéd star cluster quilt for myself and a penguin block quilt to assemble. And the peacock quilt still remains in the hand quilting frame where it is still gathering more dust.
Also, I'm working now on a new Free Block of the Month project -- similar to the Simple Scrappy Pleasures projects we've had in the past. This one is called Simple Scrappy Treasures! Hopefully, this will be available October 1st on the Free BOM page.
The Quilt Shoppe Forum News:
Lynn (lynnwin) is hosting a fabric swap monthly now called "Nickels, Dimes, & Quarters". Each month we swap 5" squares, 10" squares, or 2.5" strips in a specified color or theme. For the August swap, it was 2 1/2" strips of floral fabrics. The swap for September is Dimes in fall/autumn fabrics.
Karen's Comfort Quilt has been finished and sent to her. She was so surprised and absolutely delighted! It made all efforts more than worthwhile. This is what quilters do! It's a wonderful fellowship or perhaps it should be called a "sisterhood". Thanks to all who participated with blocks or funds. To view the blocks and the finished quilt, go to my webshots HERE.
