Greetings!

The ladies are working on a very nice sampler donated by Vicki Ladwig Rogers.  It has gorgeous autumn browns and autumn leaves quilted in the border.  

This quilt, I believe, will be auctioned at the next Eden Country Festival event.  I'll be sure to post the date for you later.

The other day, I had 2 very nice surprises!  First, I got a call from a Claremore florist saying he had a delivery for me.  I was so anxiety-stricken!  Who in the world would send me flowers and not use our local florist?  It must be a mistake or something.

Well, turned out to be a wonderful autumn bouquet from the nice people at Martingale Publishing!  And I was worried it might be from some secret admirer, lol.

Then later the UPS guy brought the 2nd surprise---an advance copy of our book "Loose Change"!  It is absolutely gorgeous!  The photography is awesome and even the back of it is beautiful!

I feverishly flipped thru the pages to get a good look---we had seen the proofs, but the color wasn't all that striking--this was unbelievable!  I found myself looking thru it like anyone else would, and thinking "Wow, I would like to make that!".  But, of course, I already had.  :D

My co-author, Le Ann Weaver, got the same 2 surprises, and she had the same reaction as I did.  We are both so pleased with the nice work Martingale did on this endeavor.  We hope you will be too!

To that extent, we are offering pre-ordering now.  If you order from myself or Le Ann (www.persimmonquilts.com), we'll send you a signed copy.  Also available on the pattern page. Credit card orders (except Paypal) will not be processed until the shipment of your book around the October release date.  We're including free shipping on all orders also.

What have I been doing?

Well, when not babysitting, or traveling, I've actually been able to sew a little bit---even designed a new mystery to be on the "free" page coming soon on November 1.  It will be a "progressive" project.  At any point in the episodes, you'll have a project that can stand alone if not finished.  So, look for that on the free page coming around the end of October.

We've already been working on a sequel to Loose Change, can you believe it?  So we've been glued to our computers for a while, and we're just getting started designing some more new and wonderful nickel, dime and fq projects.

But I have been able to do a couple of things not on that list--I pieced a sweet little wall hanging the other day for a friend to give to a special person for Christmas.  Called Fruit of the Spirit, a kit by the people at Block Party Studios.  So simple and so fun!

Then I worked on a special project for my great niece, Whitney, who lives up in Sioux City, Iowa.  I had seen my nephew last month while he was visiting my mom.  He mentioned that Whitney had never received a quilt from her Great Aunt Claudia!  How could this be???  Her older sister, Gwyneth, had received one when she was born. Whitney is now 2 yrs old and she is old enough to realize that her sister has one and SHE DOESN'T.  So---we can't have that!  Anyway, here's Whitney's quilt:

Next, I'm working on finishing up my Twisted Mystery #4 quilt top.  But I can't post a picture of that, cuz it's a secret!  :-)
